The Child and Family Network Centers

Harry Braswell, Inc. performed a $1 million renovation as a pro bono effort for the Child and Family Network Centers’ newest location at 3700 Wheeler Avenue in Alexandria’s West End. President Harry Braswell donated more than six months of time and energy to manage the renovation, waiving all management fees. Numerous local companies, including Michael Winstanley Architects & Planners, Girard Engineering, P.C. and MOW Design Studio, donated their professional services to help make this new Child and Family Center a reality.

Inside the 5,200 SF facility, colorful steps lead to two light-filled classrooms with cathedral ceilings, pendant lights and exposed ductwork. The classrooms can serve 32 to 56 children. The building also holds an ESL classroom and a nursery, administrative offices, kitchen and elevator.

CFNC opened its classrooms to underprivileged children and their families in early 2014. Harry Braswell was awarded the 2014 NARI DC Metro Community Service Award for his efforts.
