No detail was overlooked in the design of this home for an energetic Fort Hunt couple who are raising three boys and run two businesses from their home. From a basement music studio to an inside post-walk doggie shower, the house was tailored to fit this family’s lifestyle in a neighborhood they love.

The sliding wall of LaCantina glass doors allows great natural light into the open dining, kitchen, and living rooms and creates seamless flow between the indoor and outdoor entertaining spaces. The heated screen porch is the ideal place to watch the kids play ball in the side yard.

Custom millwork, such as the turned posts on either side of the sinks and oven, adds sophistication to this elegant white kitchen. Details like custom built spice racks in cabinets above the range, a large walk-in pantry, and a hidden charging station are all part of an efficient, well-thought-out design.

This cast-iron, trough-style sink serves as a fun, family-friendly focal point in this upstairs Jack and Jill bathroom shared by two brothers. The traditionally wall-mounted sink is instead mounted in a custom rustic alder cabinet and surrounded by Black Pearl granite countertops to provide a surface for toiletries and storage for cleaning supplies.

The classic white and marble master bathroom features a custom his-and-hers vanity with millwork arches, a center wall cabinet for toiletries, and a hidden hamper in the base. Sconces mounted directly on the mirrors reflect light back into the room while lights recessed into the arches provide additional task lighting over the sinks.

The black Boral Cultured Brick wall paired with a chrome and marble console sink creates a youthful “edge” in this teenage boy’s bathroom. Matte black penny round mosaic tile wraps from the shower floor up the shower wall and contrasts with the white linen floor and wall tile. Careful consideration was required to ensure the different wall textures transitioned seamlessly into each other.

From hosting the big game to sharing their love of live music, this family enjoys entertaining. The basement boasts unique walls of reclaimed wood, a large, custom-designed bar, and an open room with pool table, fireplace, TV viewing area, and performance area. A back stair that leads directly from the basement to the outside patio means guests can move the party outside easily!

The offices are located in the front right of the home, where the couple can see clients and deliveries arrive. Sliding glass barn doors provide privacy and quiet during the workday and separation between the office and home during non-work hours.
